Free agent center Jonas Valanciunas has been signed to a four-week contract by MBA fantasy team Yavapai Swashbucklers only days before the 2012 MBA Fantasy Draft. Valanciunas was originally on the 2011 draft list, but has remained ineligible in the MBA league until entering an NBA roster. To clear roster space for the addition of the 20-year old center, coach 3M chose to waive center Spencer Hawes.
