The reigning Eastern Conference champions, Meaty Ogres, adjusted their roster through the 2008 MBA Fantasy Draft by drafting guard project Jerryd Bayless. Bayless was picked fifth overall by coach Brian, on a draft pick acquired in an earlier trade with the Yavapai Swashbucklers.

Bayless replaces guard Chauncey Billups, who was released before the opening of the fantasy draft. The 32-year old Billups leaves the Ogres after three seasons with averages of 20+ fppg. His MBA career numbers are 90 games and 19.02 fppg.
