MEATY OGRES RELEASE STOCKTON, SIGN MURPHY
Meaty Ogres have released veteran guard John Stockton and signed free agent forward Troy Murphy to the open roster spot.
Playing in his 10th fantasy season, the 40 year old Stockton is the unrivaled MBA assists leader (1616 assists) and ranks to date 13th on the all time career fantasy points list with 2791 FP in 165 games and 105 starts.
Drafted in 1993 and playing seven seasons with Thisted Tigers Basketball (123 games, 20.2 fppg), Stockton was released in 2000 and soon signed by the Meaty Ogres.
In the past two seasons with the Ogres, he has averaged an unmodified 19.2 fppg, and in fact set a new MBA single season record for total bench FP with 201,5 in the 2001/2002 season.
"Stockton has been one of our most valuable players the past two seasons", said MO general manager and head coach Brian, "His effective style of play fits our program well, but we need to look to our future and our goal to become a young championship contending fantasy team."
At age 22 Murphy gives up 18 years in experience to Stockton.
A forward rookie prospect undrafted in the 2001/2002 fantasy season, Murphy joins the MBA fantasy league for the first time.
